The pilgrimage begins at Endcliffe Park where visitors are taken on a journey to a location with a ‘gaze’ view experience. Located at the end of the journey there is a redesigned shipping container where users are able to relax and enjoy nature.
I chose to place my shipping container by the stepping stones at Wyming Brook Nature Reserve. By walking along the Porter Brook path, the journey takes around 1 hour 36 minutes.
For the design of the shipping container, I was inspired by the sun rays visible in many of my photographs of the site and wanted to incorporate this into my design. I looked into the shape of light aperture, which is the opening in a lens which allows the light to shine through into a camera. I was inspired by the hexagon shapes of the lens and this became the main concept of my design.
